JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Kochi, commemorated International Literacy Day 2026 with an engaging celebration centred around the theme “READ. THINK. ACT.”
The programme brought together knowledge, creativity, music and student participation, highlighting the evolving meaning of literacy in today’s rapidly changing world.
The celebration began with a lively musical duet, setting the tone for an exciting programme. This was followed by the Literacy Battle, an interactive group-based MCQ quiz that challenged students across diverse areas, including digital literacy, AI awareness, general awareness and contemporary issues.
With enthusiastic participation, teamwork and coordination, students actively contributed to the spirit of the celebration. The programme concluded with a captivating musical performance, reflections from the winners and a group photograph that captured the energy and togetherness of the occasion.
The International Literacy Day celebration reinforced an important message: literacy goes beyond the ability to read and write. It is about the ability to understand, question, learn, think critically and use knowledge responsibly.
Through “READ. THINK. ACT.”, the celebration highlighted the power of literacy to inspire informed thinking, meaningful participation and responsible action.
