The session on “Strengthening Community Enterprises Through Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs)” was successfully conducted at JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Kochi for SC Fishers and Allied Workers. Led by Mr. Ajeesh Balu (DGM – NABARD), the expert session highlighted the importance of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in strengthening community enterprises, creating sustainable livelihood opportunities, and enabling collective growth. The discussions inspired participants to explore innovative and community-driven approaches towards empowerment and sustainability.
The programme was graced by distinguished people including Adv. Sajeev Parvathy (Sajeev Parvathy Foundation), Mr. Ajeesh Balu (DGM – NABARD), Dr. G Nagendra Prabhu (Scientific Advisor – FKM), Dr. Resmi C (Dy Director – School of Humanities and Social Science), Prof. L Jawahar Nesan, Chief mentor and Smt. Sangeetha N R (State Co-Ordinator, MPEDA – NETFISH), whose presence and insights added immense value to the initiative.
Jointly organised by MPEDA-NETFISH, Ministry of Commerce & Industries, Govt. of India, and Future Kerala Mission in association with JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), Kochi, the programme reflected a shared vision of inclusive development and community empowerment.
